Petroleum resin derived from petroleum derivatives named, it has a low acid value, good miscibility, water, ethanol and chemical resistance, acid and base chemical stability, and has the characteristics of good viscosity and thermal stability regulation. Petroleum resins are generally not used alone, but as accelerators, regulators, modifiers and other resins used together.

Petroleum resins are generally classified as C5 aliphatic(lipid), C9 aromatic hydrocarbons, DCPD(cycloaliphatic,cycloaliphatic) and pure monomers such as poly SM, AMS(alpha methyl styrene). Its constituent molecules are hydrocarbons, so it is also called hydrocarbon resins (HCR).
